The Dean's Merit List comprises of the top 5% of undergraduate students. I was included in this award during my studies at University of Wollongong.

I coordinated and coached primary students in prepared and impromptu debates for competitions.

I am particularly interested in Kath Murdoch's approach to inquiry learning and thrived in her courses focused on inquiry based learning. I was able to utilise all my learnings with my students and it was a wonder to see them appreciate and enjoy their learning.

Visible Thinking is a flexible and systematic research-based conceptual framework, which aims to integrate the development of students' thinking with content learning across subject matters.

This course gave me skills to use with the students in my class who struggle with their behaviour and emotional self-regulation.
I learnt basic skills and techniques to use when having difficult or challenging conversations with students

I have a passion for utilising technology in the classroom to ensure learning is accessible for all students. These courses equipped me in embedding technological content in my lessons.

Positive Education is an approach to education that combines traditional academic learning with the study of positive psychology and well-being. It focuses on nurturing students not only academically but also emotionally, socially, and psychologically. The positive education model aims to promote the development of character strengths, resilience, emotional intelligence, and overall well-being in students.

This course is grounded in research-based practices that have been shown to be effective in preparing children for success in reading and writing as they begin their schooling.

Studying at the University of NSW, this course provides useful and practical professional development to educators in supporting gifted and high potential students. 

To assist in teaching students with Autism, I took the initiative to read and complete own choice professional development about ASD and strategies to assist. I am consistently updating my training in this area as required.
